Our Process

Every hospitality brand is different, but strong brands are built through clear thinking, careful craft, and considered collaboration. Our process is designed to give structure without rigidity, allowing space for insight, creativity, and informed decision-making at every stage.

We work closely with founders and teams, keeping communication clear and momentum steady from the first conversation through to delivery.

1. The Brief – let’s get on the same page

We begin by listening. Through conversations, research, and review, we take the time to understand your business, your audience, and your goals. This stage sets the foundations for everything that follows, creating clarity around what your brand needs and why.

  • Initial discussions
  • questionnaire to fill out ahead of time
  • return brief for sign off – so we are all on the same page!
2. Research – exploration, gathering and analysing

Gathering insight into your brand to shaped the direction.

  • Desk research
  • workshop preparation
  • audit of current brand – if applicable
  • competitor research
  • target audience
  • your difference
  • your customers
  • your brand
3. Strategy – focus findings

We define the strategic foundations of your brand, aligning purpose, positioning, and story so decisions are clear and consistent.

Strategy can include:

  • workshop session, collaborative approach, time to get involved in your brand
  • establish your brand positioning and differentiation
  • distilling your essence (Volvo’s essence is safety)
  • Strategic recommendations and next steps
4. Design – delivering strategy into visual identity

Strategy is translated into visual identity and experience. We explore and refine ideas, developing a cohesive brand system designed to work across real-world touchpoints.

Design is thoughtful, practical, and built to last.

Design can include:

  • Visual identity systems
  • Colour, typography, and visual language
  • Core brand assets and applications
  • Refinement and development of chosen direction
5. Implementation – the big reveal

Once the direction is agreed, we support the rollout of your brand into the world. This can include digital, print, and physical applications, along with guidance on how to use your brand with confidence.

Implementation can include:

  • Brand guidelines and toolkits
  • Menus, signage, packaging, and print
  • Digital design and website support
  • Launch assets and handover

We’ve got you covered, whatever the brief, from a full identity, to refreshing your brand, website, or collateral. Cultivate has successfully helped business build from the ground up, through campaigns, to day-to-day needs.

What they say;

“Our aim to have a consistent brand message that reflected a premium, artisanal product, that differentiated us from our competitors was achieved. Victoria’s professionalism, work ethic, creativity, and ability to understand our consumer, resulted in increased sales as well as product volume. To say the least, she did an amazing job, going above and beyond our expectations. Having worked with a number of designers, her talent, patience, and passion far surpassed past experiences.”

Dave Seminsky – Sumerian Coffee Roasters, Owner

“Victoria helped me with the brand research, strategy, design, and activation of my boutique hotel, bar, and accompanying restaurant. Working with Victoria on the brand was, by far, the most satisfying and enriching part of building the hotel, bar, and restaurant from its original idea into an operational business.”

Piper Stremmel – The Jesse, Entrepreneur Business Owner

“Working with Vic has been instrumental in helping us develop a strong and unique brand the totally met the brief. 110% happy with her work and the impact it has had on our brand structure and brand identity. We always get complimented by clients and peers on our branding, so thanks Vic for making us standout!”

Matt Waterton – Waveblade, Sports Roller, Owner

“Estella recently won Gold Certificates at the American Advertising Awards – this is a huge testament to Victoria’s talent, but in my mind, it still does not do justice to her true skill as a brand strategist and designer.”

Piper Stremmel – Estella & The Jesse, Entrepreneur Business Owner
